The Big Burger Spot makes a very good burger, and I really tried to like the place, but …
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying don’t go, as I actually recommend this place. The little things that bother me are mostly in the parking lot. The giant billboard and the gas station next door leave little room for parking and the place is hard to get in and out of at busy times. The few tables and chairs in the small dining area are really not an enjoyable environment for me, but I’m a bit abnormal. I’d really like to go back on a day with perfect weather and sit outside in the picnic area. It’s a masterpiece but I’ll address that later.
There is now a second location near I-40 and Wendover but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. Per other reviews the food is the same, with better seating and parking for people, but for dogs not so much.
The burgers very worthy and are really big. That’s the small version show above. If that’s not enough for you they have two even-bigger options. The ingredients are all high quality and burgers are adroitly prepared. On this visit my complaint was the cold pimento cheese. I expect it to be warm and messy.
This is a very casual place you can pop in and quickly get top quality burger. If you’re in sweat-pants and flip-flops you would not feel too weird about it here.
The real bonus here is for your dog. They get their own menu and the special outdoor dining area is far beyond dog-friendly. It’s a puppy paradise. The painted murals feature the pets of friends and guests and is one of the city’s best public art works. The graveled space and tables offer a unique opportunity to combine man’s-best-friend with America’s favorite food.
